Booking4 questions
I would like to book a pilgrimage. How do I book and what do I need to look out for?
Choose one of our scheduled travel programmes. You can book on our website, by phone or by e-mail. Before booking, please check the documents required for the visa (passport, residence permit & visa etc.)
I have booked and want to cancel at short notice. Will I get my money back?
If you cancel your Umrah more than 4 weeks before departure, you receive a full refund. For Hajj, you must cancel before the month of Ramadan to receive the full price back.
What is the latest I can register for the trip? When is the latest I can book?
You can book up to 2 to 3 weeks before departure, but we cannot guarantee a place as our places are limited. You should book as early as possible. If you have questions about available places, just get in touch.
I will soon receive a new passport. Can I still book with you?
You can register with your current passport details, but please add a note when booking that you have applied for a new passport. We will take care of the rest or get in touch with you.
Visa9 questions
I would like to get an Umrah or Hajj visa for Saudi Arabia. What do I need to consider?
As soon as you book a trip with us, we handle your entire visa application. We will ask you for the important documents and take care of the visa for your pilgrimage.
How long does it take to get a visa? Can I speed up the process?
You receive your visa within 2 to 3 weeks once all documents are complete and the embassy has approved it. If you want it faster, we offer an express service for an extra charge; just get in touch.
I am a German citizen. Do I still need a visa? Which countries need a visa for Saudi Arabia?
All countries, including German citizens, need a visa for Saudi Arabia.
Can someone living outside Germany apply for a visa through us? Who can get a visa?
In the section on required visa documents we explain who is eligible for a visa. There you will find the requirements. As a rule, non-EU citizens without residence in Germany cannot obtain a visa through us.
My parents are also on Hajj or Umrah. Can I spend time with them or leave the group?
You can spend time there on your own or with your relatives. However, passports must stay with the Hajj ministry until the return flight, so you are not completely flexible. Whenever we change cities, you must travel with us.
Does health insurance cover the cost of vaccination?
Some health insurers cover the cost of the vaccination. Please contact your health insurer about this.
Does my child definitely need a meningitis vaccination?
Children under 1 year do not need a vaccination. For children aged 1 and over, no meningitis vaccination is required if the child’s health does not allow it; a confirmation from your paediatrician is enough.
I have already been vaccinated against meningitis. Do I need to be vaccinated again?
Your vaccination must be valid for at least 3 years after the departure date. Otherwise you will need to be vaccinated again.
We are married but do not have a civil marriage certificate for the visa. What now?
Couples married in an Islamic ceremony can have a written marriage confirmation issued by a mosque or Islamic institute. If your surnames match, no marriage certificate is needed.
Flight & transport7 questions
Which airlines do you fly with?
We fly mainly with Saudi Airlines and Turkish Airlines, as we are an official member with both.
I have no way to get to the airport. What can I do instead?
When we fly with Saudi Airlines, you can travel to and from the airport by express train.
How many kg of luggage can I bring?
With Saudi Airlines you can take up to 46 kg of luggage and 8 kg of hand luggage. With Turkish Airlines it is 30 kg and 8 kg of hand luggage. On the return flight, both airlines allow an extra 5 litres of Zamzam water per person.
When do we receive our tickets after booking?
The tickets are e-tickets, so you do not need to worry about them. Your passport is all you need. We will still e-mail you your ticket details.
Can I pray on the plane?
Yes, you can pray seated on the plane. We recommend renewing your wudu before boarding. Please pray quietly and calmly so that no one else feels disturbed.
Can I fly directly to my home country on the return flight, and can I fly back earlier or later?
For Umrah you may be able to fly back to a country of your choice, but for Hajj you must fly back to Germany. On the outbound flight we must fly together as a group. On the return it is possible to leave earlier; leaving later than the planned return date is not allowed. Please talk to us for details.
What happens if my luggage is lost at the airport?
If you cannot find your luggage, you must immediately report the loss yourself at the lost luggage desk. As lost luggage concerns personal belongings, we are not allowed to act on your behalf.
Hotel6 questions
Which hotels are included in your package? May I arrange my own accommodation?
We have worked with reliable hotel partners for years, so you do not need to worry. Our selected hotels are very clean and recommendable. For Umrah you can also arrange your own hotel. For Hajj this is unfortunately not possible; you must stay with the group.
Does the hotel provide toiletries such as shampoo, soap and towels?
Yes, you basically do not need to bring anything. Sensitive people, for example those with allergies, can bring their own toiletries.
Is there a cleaning service at the hotel?
Yes, a cleaning service is available on request. However, someone must be present in the room while it is being cleaned.
Does every roommate get a key or key card?
No, you get only one card per room and must always hand it in at reception. Whoever comes back first collects the card and can enter the room. Whoever leaves the room last returns the card to reception.
What food is offered there? This matters a lot to me.
We arrange your meals from local Turkish cooks.
How are the rooms allocated, and who will I share with?
Men and women get separate rooms. You then choose the room type: single, double, triple or quad. Who shares with whom depends on language, nationality and each person’s wishes.
Hajj3 questions
I am unprepared for Hajj and lack the knowledge needed for the journey and the acts of worship. What can I do?
First, very experienced imams give live seminars online. There is also a one-day gathering at the mosques in Offenbach, Haagen and Munich, where you can talk to and exchange with other pilgrims. After booking, our guests receive links to video seminars covering every point of Hajj. We also recommend reading books about Hajj. Remember that we also give daily talks in Saudi Arabia that you can join. We explain everything step by step.
I would like Hajj to be performed on behalf of a deceased friend or relative. Is this possible, and what would it cost?
Yes, this is possible. You pay the full amount and we appoint a trusted person from Germany who performs all the rites of Hajj in the name of the deceased. Alternatively, you pay half the Hajj price and we appoint trustworthy local students or acquaintances there who will perform the Hajj reliably.
Does everyone have to sacrifice an animal for Hajj, or is one sacrifice enough for the family?
An animal must be sacrificed separately for each person.
Umrah3 questions
When does the Umrah season begin and end?
The Umrah season ends after Ramadan and begins again one month after Hajj.
How often per year may I perform Umrah?
You may perform Umrah several times a year, provided you meet the requirements.
Is it better to do Umrah before going on Hajj?
Hajj takes priority over Umrah. If Hajj is not possible for financial reasons or lack of time, you can begin with an Umrah. Hajj is obligatory once in a lifetime for every believing Muslim and should therefore be given priority.
Other8 questions
Should I also get vaccinated against other diseases?
Meningitis vaccination is compulsory. You can also get vaccinated against other diseases voluntarily as a precaution; please ask your doctor for advice.
What should I do if I fall ill?
You can use doctors and hospitals there free of charge, as long as they are state-run. Private doctors and hospitals charge fees.
Can I bring my children if I cannot find anyone to look after them?
You can easily take your children on Umrah, but for Hajj it is better to leave them at home, as the journey at Hajj time is very demanding.
On an Umrah trip, taking your child or children is no problem. On Hajj trips it is better to leave smaller children at home, as so many people are on the move at that time. This is only a recommendation; parents must decide for themselves.
What shoes should I wear during ihram?
We recommend bringing two pairs of comfortable sandals: one for ihram and one for the rest of the time. Flip-flops are perfectly fine.
What colour must women wear for ihram?
There is no rule on this; what matters is that Islamic dress requirements are observed.
I need a SIM card there. How much does it cost and what does it include?
For about 20 to 30 euros you get a SIM card with internet (copy of passport and visa required). You cannot make WhatsApp calls, but voice messages and normal WhatsApp messages still work.
What else should I watch out for when buying a SIM card?
There are many different providers and not all have full coverage. We recommend providers such as STC (comparable to Deutsche Telekom). With STC cards you can also call each other free of charge.
I want to withdraw money there with my debit card. Is this possible and what should I watch out for?
You can withdraw money without any problem, but there are daily limits, so you cannot withdraw much. There are also fees, which depend on your bank.
